Heading (headline) Elements (<H1>...<H6>)

Headings are used to break up the webpage into distinct, key sections (chapters).

Line Break Elements (<br>)

Line breaks are used to break to a new line of text within a block, such as a paragraph. In Word, these would be called line breaks (Shift + Enter).

HTML Entities

Entities allow for the display of special characters on the webpage. For instance, there are entities for ©, ™, ¥, and non-breaking space.

Block vs Inline

Block Elements

A block element seperates itself from surrounding content, creating a space both above and below it. By default, two block elements will appear one on top of the other.

Paragraphs are block elements. Other block elements include: H1...H6, HEADER, SECTION, FOOTER, P, DIV, UL, OL, LI, TABLE, NAV, ARTICLE, ASIDE, HEADER, FOOTER, and others.

Common semantic STRUCTURAL elements include: STRONG, EM, HEADER, FOOTER, MAIN, SECTION, ARTICLE, NAV, ASIDE, FIGURE, FIGCAPTION,
